- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 4 slices sourdough or white bread
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned.
- Add the finely chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté until the onion is translucent.
- Season with salt and pepper, then stir in the Worcestershire sauce and beef broth. Simmer until the liquid reduces, enhancing the flavors.
- Butter one side of each slice of bread.
- Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
- Place two slices of bread butter side down in the skillet, layer on cheddar cheese, beef mixture, and mozzarella cheese.
- Top with the remaining slices of bread, butter side up.
- Grill each side for 3-4 minutes, or until golden brown and cheese has melted. Flip carefully to avoid spillage.
- Once cooked, slice and serve warm. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
Feel free to swap ground beef for turkey or chicken and experiment with different cheese varieties.
