Description

Indulge in the warm, sugary hug of freshly made Vanilla French Beignets, perfect for breakfast or dessert with a delightful fluffy texture.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 packet of yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the warm milk with the yeast and let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add the flour, sugar, and vanilla extract to the yeast mixture.
  3. Stir until a soft dough forms. Knead the dough gently on a floured surface until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Once the dough has risen, roll it out onto a floured surface to about 1/2 inch thick and cut into squares or diamonds.
  6. In a deep skillet, heat the oil to 350°F (175°C). Carefully drop the dough pieces into the hot oil, frying until golden brown on both sides.
  7. Remove them with a slotted spoon and let them drain on paper towels. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Make sure your oil is the right temperature for best frying results. Dust with powdered sugar right before serving for freshness.
