- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup bread flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon instant yeast
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 cup cooked sausage, crumbled
- 1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose and bread flours, sugar, salt, and instant yeast.
- In a separate bowl, mix the milk, water, melted butter, and beaten eggs until well combined.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until you have a cohesive dough.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean cloth, and let it rise in a warm spot until it doubles in size, about 1 hour.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out the risen dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick.
- Evenly sprinkle the crumbled sausage, shredded cheese, and green onions over the dough.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice into equal pieces, about 1 to 2 inches wide.
- Arrange the rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for an additional 30 minutes.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until they’re golden brown.
- Serve warm and enjoy every bite!
Notes
These rolls can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for a couple of days or refrigerated for about a week. They freeze well too, reheating nicely in the oven or microwave.
