Ingredients

- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce
- Sea salt flakes for topping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients and mix until combined.
- In another bowl, beat the cream cheese with the powdered sugar until smooth.
- Take a small portion of the cookie dough and flatten it in your hand. Add a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture to the center and wrap the dough around it, forming a ball.
- Place the cookie balls on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden on the edges.
- Once out of the oven, drizzle the salted caramel sauce over the warm cookies and sprinkle with sea salt flakes.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Best served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Store in an airtight container for 3-4 days at room temperature, or refrigerate for up to a week.
