Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring they are well incorporated before adding the next. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually stir this mixture into the butter and sugar blend until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in the chocolate chips, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie to allow for spreading.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are firm but the centers remain soft.

Notes

For a dairy-free version, substitute unsalted butter with coconut oil. For less sweetness, reduce the sugar.
