Description
Delicious and easy to make, these cookies combine rich buttery flavor with a hint of sweetness and a sprinkle of flaky sea salt.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 large egg
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Flaky sea salt for sprinkling
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until everything is well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and salt. Gradually mix this dry mixture into the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Using a tablespoon, scoop out balls of dough and place them on baking sheets lined with parchment paper, leaving space between them.
- Gently flatten each ball with the bottom of a glass to create a nice shape, then sprinkle a little flaky sea salt on top for that perfect finish.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden but the centers remain soft.
- Once done, allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Freeze the dough for up to a month and bake directly from the freezer.
