Description

A comforting and hearty dish featuring seasoned ground beef, mushrooms, and creamy mashed potatoes, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with the chopped onion and mushrooms until the beef is fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
  3. In a bowl, combine the cooked beef mixture with breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  4. Shape the mixture into patties and place them in a baking dish.
  5. Pour the beef broth evenly over the patties.
  6. Spread the mashed potatoes generously on top of the patties.
  7. If desired, sprinkle the cheese on top for extra creaminess.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until heated through and the cheese is melted.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute ground turkey or chicken. Consider adding herbs like thyme or rosemary for extra flavor.
