Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups sliced mushrooms
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, sauté the chopped onions and sliced mushrooms until they are tender.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with bread crumbs, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  4. Form the meat mixture into patties.
  5. In the same skillet, brown the patties on both sides, then remove them and set aside.
  6. Pour in the beef broth and bring to a simmer.
  7. Return the browned patties to the skillet, cover, and bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes.
  8. Remove the skillet from the oven, sprinkle shredded cheese on top, and return it to bake until the cheese is melted.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.

Notes

Feel free to use lean ground turkey as a lighter option. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
